With the advent of virtually every new property built in recent times having double glazing windows fitted as standard and this coupled with the majority of older properties having double glazed replacement windows installed, there has been a clamour for double glazing repairs and window specialists.
We at Bedford Double Glazing Repairs have been involved in the double glazed industry since 1989. Whilst we carry out aluminium window repairs and some repairs on timber windows and doors, the majority of our enquiries by far involves uPVC repairs. uPVC windows taking up a large proportion of these enquiries.

uPVC door repairs count for the vast majority of double glazed door repairs we attend and uPVC door lock repairs cater for most of these calls. Replacement uPVC door panels are also a very cost effective way to refurbish and brighten up an old uPVC door.

Since the turn of the century the composite door has become increasingly popular and has gradually replaced the uPVC door as people’s first choice when replacing their front door.
When we are called to do a front door repair these days a large percentage of these calls are to carry out composite door repairs. we also carry out patio door repairs, sometimes known as sliding door repairs, french door repair and bifold door repairs. The latter two being accountable for a high percentage of the conservatory door repairs we deal with.
We also deal with a high volume of replacement double glazed units. These also account for a high percentage of the window and door repairs we deal with. Originally it was thought that if a person needed window glass replacement to a double glazed window they would need full replacement windows. Nowadays it is accepted that a much cheaper alternative to full window replacement is to just fit double glazing glass replacement.
Misty window repairs are the most common reason for customers needing window glass replacement. This is where water develops between the individual panes of glass that make up the double glazed units. Sometimes we are asked to carry out a glass replacement change when there is nothing wrong with the customer’s double glazing.
The customers just fancy a change in how their glass looks and want either a feature lead design or a georgian grille design to replace their clear glass units. In these cases we carry out a complete window refurbishment. We also deal with emergency glazing enquiries and emergency boarding up requests following burglaries or break-ins.
